venice beach Series
I grew up in southern california and have always lived westside. Being near the ocean has always been a priority for me. The expansiveness of the great wide ocean envelopes me when I’m feeling low. It reminds me that I am just a wee little piece of sand in the grand scheme of things. Those waves take my pain and redeliver joy and perspective. The ocean has been my greatest teacher in grief, in love and in laughter. I moved away when I was 16 but continued to come back and forth to LA, eventually landing in Venice Beach 13 years ago. This series is in homage to my home where I live now. Venice, I love you so!
Always there to lift everyone up around her. She’s constantly looking up towards the sky and receiving the light. She spreads that hope and love to everyone around her. The birds are always calling to her and she to them. They lift their wings and leave the world behind. She shows her children that it’s ok to endure tragedy and grief, that there is still beauty in life and so much to continue to be inspired by. Morgan is always calling for others to spread their wings and fly and showing them the way by doing it herself!
Taken in Venice Beach
Come September when the weather begins to change, we always wish for the Universe to send more summer
In the middle of winter we get these wind storms that leave the sand looking like it’s never been touched before by human feet. The untouched sand coupled with the untouchable blue sky leaves me breathless
Heading down to the beach for sunset is one of my favorite things to do, but when you also get the surprise of a beautiful crescent moon, then it becomes magic
The sunrise spectators are special breeds of people that know the power of getting up early and greeting the day with all the colors that come with morning
